It is capable of taking hard armour plates for protection against high velocity bullets.The soft armour vest will give protection up to .44 Magnum, but with plates that can be fitted to the front and back of the jacket, additional protection can be given to defeat armour piercing rounds. New light weight plates (2.3Kg/5lb 3oz) will protect from 5 shots of AK 47 armour piercing rounds. Under American NIJ level 4 standards, only one round is required to be stopped. There are 8 adjustment points for maximising comfort. Mesh retaining panels are fitted to the front and rear to aid comfort. |
